Your Android Phone Is Enough to Start

You do not need a large course or hours of free time to begin learning Farsi. An Android phone and 15 focused minutes each day are enough to build a useful habit.

The Learn Farsi Android app brings lessons, pronunciation audio, grammar, the Persian alphabet, and daily practice into one place. You can study at home, on your commute, or whenever you have a short break.

Set Up Your Farsi Learning App

Download Learn Farsi from Google Play, then open the first vocabulary lesson. You can start with phonetic spelling if Persian script still feels unfamiliar. The phonetic text shows how each word sounds using English letters.

Listen to the audio before answering. Repeat the word out loud once or twice. This small step trains your ear and your pronunciation at the same time.

When you are ready to read Persian, begin the Persian alphabet course. You do not need to learn all 32 letters before starting vocabulary lessons. It is easier to study both together.

The 15 Minute Daily Plan

Use the same short routine each day. A predictable plan makes it easier to stay consistent.

  1. Minutes 1 to 5, learn something new. Complete part of a vocabulary or grammar lesson. Focus on understanding the examples instead of rushing.

  2. Minutes 6 to 10, review. Open daily practice and answer the words that are ready for review. Spaced repetition brings words back before you forget them.

  3. Minutes 11 to 13, listen and repeat. Play the pronunciation audio for difficult words. Say each word out loud.

  4. Minutes 14 to 15, use one word. Make a short sentence, say a greeting, or type one Persian word. Using a word helps it stay in your memory.

What to Study During Your First Week

On days one and two, learn common greetings and basic personal words. On days three and four, add a few Persian letters. On day five, complete a grammar lesson. Use day six for review, then use day seven to repeat anything that still feels difficult.

Do not worry about completing many lessons. Your goal is to return every day. Fifteen minutes for seven days is more useful than one long session followed by a week without practice.

Add a Persian Keyboard

A Persian keyboard lets you search for words, message Persian speakers, and practise writing. Android includes one for free. Follow our guide to add a Persian keyboard on Android.

Start by typing words you already know. Copying one word each day is enough. Accuracy matters more than speed.

Continue on the Web

Sign in with the same account on Android and the web, and your progress follows you. You can study on your phone during the day, then continue on a larger screen later.
